It was great to get a reunion preview with so many bright-eyed, happy Bicentennials. I couldn't get many good shots because... I'm stumpy. But I really like the last one! We should be tour-hardened for Saturday morning at Lane now that we've conquered Wrigley. Night everybody!

Just in case anyone has lost or did not receive emails that were sent last week with tour and banquet details... here goes:

school tour begins at 10:00 Saturday morning.  Registration begins at 9:30.  Park in the south lot off of Western Ave.  Wear comfortable clothes. The tour is about .5  - .7 miles. 
 

Saturday evening, the banquet is from 6:00-10:00 pm at The Fairway. 6766 West Howard Street, Niles. Dress is business casual. Parking is available around the building and in back.

I promised folks on the school tour that I would share the image of the original rendering for the Lane Tech Campus in 1930. This was hanging behind the faculty mailboxes in the Main Office and partially obscured.  We only got one of the five orignally intended buildings but it's a keeper!

What a great weekend!!  From the Wrigley Field Tour to the Lane Tech Tour and the great banquet to top it all off ( I was not able to make it to the mixer at the Alumni Office but I'm sure it was great).  I want to thank all the committee members for giving me the opportunity to have a fun weekend and to reconnect/connect with old and new friends!  Time to start planning #60!!  haha!

A shout out to all the alums and their guests who came out to the reunion events.  I know I speak for the other nine committee members... we wanted to create activities such that everyone would reconnect, share old stories and memories, and create new or renew connections.  You all did not disappoint! The level of talking, laughing, (and singing!) proved there's still a lot of tread left on these tires.  There were many emails and numbers exchanged, so our hope now is that you reach out to those new contacts and forge some new relationships. It's never too late. 
 

Thank you all for attending. It's because of all of you the events were successful.  A special shout out to Mr. Reagan, Mr. Heath, and Ms. Slaughter for sharing their time with us.

I wanted to thank the people who put this together. It had to be a lot of hard and sometimes thankless work to put a weekend like this together. That way, someone who has disappeared for 50 years (like me) can simply sign up and attend a great event. Thank you for that!
