You have a great memory Timmy. Yes, she started out as Miss Johnson and went on to have a beautiful family. Her daughter is a prominent doctor in Atlanta. She was one of those teachers easily mistaken for a student.

And, Deb... I have my LTHS woodshop indian too. And my father's from the early 1940s! Bringing them both to the reunion.

Hello fellow 76er's: 

For those of you who have registered for the school tour the morning of September 19, you should have received an e-mail from me earlier today (August 25) with tour specifics and tour logistics. If you registered for the tour and did not receive my message check your spam folder and also check your personal settings on this site. Several classmates have notifications turned off . As a result, you woud not receive any updates we send out from this site. 

The good news is we have over 170 alumni and guests registered for the tour. The down side is a group this large starts getting to a point of being a logistics and security challenge. The tour is NOT an open house. Those on the tour must stay with their group and cannot wander outside of their assigned tour group. 

As a result, Thursday, August 27 will be the last day that registration for the tour will remain open. 

We're all certainly looking forward to seing everyone.

For those of you not on social media... shout out to classmate and reunion committee member, Per Pearson who has spent the last several weeks schlepping, researching and refurbishing  some wonderful items gifted to the Alumni Association by the widow of former Lane physics teacher, Ron Peisker.  Peisker owned a treasure trove of retired shop equipment and other Lane-centric gadgets and doo-dads.

We're old enough to remember the big slide rules but this giant micrometer (like jumbo shrimp-right?), is from 1928 and pretty cool.  Per can tell you the whole story at the reunion but we were excited to unveil his handywork yesterday at the alumni office and watch him play a little air guitar on the slide rule.

On hand to witness the fun were several Bicentennials and that nugget, Mr. Reagan showed up again!

Hey everybody, one of the services the Alumni Association provides is the sale of year books from 2008 and earlier. Right now we have a fairly decent inventory for 1973 and 1976, a handful of 1974s and zero 1975s.

Hey fellow 76ers!

The big reunion event at The Fairway is less than three weeks away and response has exceeded all expectations. Apparently, this group loves to party. We have just under 200 alumni and guests registered for the reception and as a result registration for the event will be closed by end of day September 2. 

So, if you've been thinking about attending, you have a few moments left to decide. There will be no walk-ins allowed at the event.

Hey there classmates. Several people have asked about tickets for the tour of Wrigley Field on September 17th. There are still fifteen tickets left and for those of you already attending, here's a little update:

You should not expect any physical tickets but you did receive an automated receipt from the Alumni Association when you made your original purchase. We will check you in at the venue. If you're not sure if you bought a ticket, send an email to me at lanetechalumni@gmail.com to confirm.

We are also working with the Budweiser Brickhouse at Gallagher Way for a discount for tour participants if anyone is interested in hanging out for a drink and a nosh afterwards.

Registrants will receive an email from the LTAA on Monday, September 14th with specific details on where to meet up, etc.

Hi Class of 1976 Members!

We are looking forward to seeing you during our 50th Reunion events! We've had such a great number of folks signing up for all of our activities. It's been truly amazing! If you haven't registered for the main event happening on September 19th at the Fairway, please do so right away.

As Peter Ingraffia stated in his last post, "We have just under 200 alumni and guests registered for the reception and as a result registration for the event will be closed by end of day September 2." Thanks Peter for clarifying why the "Close of Registration Date" has been changed! 

Just a reminder and as one of several committee members who will be welcoming you at the Fairway event, we will not be able to register anyone at the event. If you're interested in attending, please register today 9/2/26.

A friend of mine that used to play AA baseball for the Cubs organization just went on that Wrigley tour last weekend and said it was about an hour and a half long and was AWESOME!

Now, if I can convince them to take me up in the scoreboard. I'd kill to go up in the scoreboard.
Don't think that's on the tour, though.

Bob, my wife Janet and I went on the Wrigley Tour several years ago.  Very interesting to see behind the scenes.  They only let us tour the visitors clubhouse, but we did get to sit in the Cub's dugout, press boxes, etc... Our tour guide had some great stories too about George Halas when the Bears used Wrigley before their move to Soldier Field, and what Halas would do with visiting teams if they beat the Bears that day.

Glad to hear you'll be thirsty after the tour despite the circumstances Nancy. Everyone will get an email from the Alumni Association with deets on Monday, 9/14 but the tour meets up at Gallagher Way at 4:15. It'll be easy to spot us. Plan to arrive early enough so we can check you in and stamp your hand for the discount at Budweiser Brickyard. It'll take some time to get through 100 hands.

This is last year's group which included a surprise Hall of Fame induction. Inductees were Mike Lufrano '83 (in the center holding his award) who is the head of Cubs Charities and EVP/Head Legal Council for the Cubs, and  former Cub Phil Cavaretta posthumously.

To everyone else who is attending an event, you should have received an email from me specific to one of the three events.  So for example, if you're attending all three events you would have received three emails from me. As you can imagine as we head into the final countdown, our attendance lists per function is a bit fluid with people needing to cancel and others on a wait list.  So sorry for all the emails, but for my own sanity, I needed to compartmentallize the emails by function.
 

if you're attending an event and did not receive an email from me, check your spam, check that your most current email is in your settings, and check that your settings allow for notifications. There are several people on our event lists that have notifications turned off in their settings.
